Goodness, what a month so far. August is traditionally a rather quiet month in the world of academia. People off on holiday, out doing fieldwork and all the students go home.  Not so this year. Perhaps because I’m no longer based on a university campus I’m not feeling the same lull, or perhaps this place is always a whirlwind??

Having said that we’ve had/are having some great successes but it’s left me feeling rather like I am chasing my own tail. Perhaps I shouldn’t go on holiday, try to sell a house, buy a house and kick start my social life all at the same time.

Having said all that, I am starting to feel like the scope of my new role is rather exciting. It feels like big things could be around the corner, let’s just hope the successes continue.
