6 months in…

It’s 6 months now since I moved to the east. Transitioning has been okay, I miss many things from my old life, most of all my friends. Some of whom I’ve seen, some are still on the list to visit. Visits to or from distant friends are bitter sweet, obviously it’s great to see them, to catch up and things, but it always ends and their temporary proximity makes leaving difficult.

My friends here are lovely, but mostly they have families and most of my friends from before did not, so perhaps there’s a difference in our interaction? Did we perhaps, in general have less responsibility, and a less urgent need to put children to bed, or feed them. That maybe meant that we all too often spent many weekends lounging, lunching and frolicking.

I’m really enjoying it here, but it’s different.
