Everyone’s talking about the heatwave here in the UK and around the world, it sure is hot. It’s making me very sleepy.
My last post was just before I accepted an offer on the Northern house, I think the sale is going through smoothly. I keep chasing the estate agents for updates. No news is good news….. until it’s bad news. I have everything crossed.
We’re getting lots of quotes in for the Eastern house, roofers, plumbers, electricians, fire installation people, the list goes on and on. We just need to wait for the listed buildings people to get back to us saying that we’re okay to start work first. There’s been a site notice up for a month now, so it shouldn’t be long.
Work is starting to go quieter, the holidays have begun and the exodus has started. I have a couple more weeks to go until my trip away, but I have some prep to do before I go, but it’s exciting to have that to look forward to.
Because of the heat and the lack of rain everything has started to die in the garden, it’s quite sad. But we’ve harvested quite a few things – potatoes, peas, beans, tomatoes, herbs, salad and cucumbers to name a few. We’re still watering the glasshouse plants, the chilli plants are heavy with fruit, and the sweet peppers and aubergines seem to be coming along nicely – they love this weather.
