After checking out this morning Ange, Linz and I traveled to Tokyo by shinkansen (bullet train). We arrived in Tokyo at around 1pm. Found our way to the hotel and them headed into the bright lights.
We went to Shibuya crossing, the one where the traffic stops and the people flood the road. Featured in music videos and the film “Lost in Translation”. Even though it was relatively quiet the effect was still pretty impressive and we sat in the Starbucks drinking iced coffee and people watched for a while.
Then we walked up to Yoyogi park, where people practice their hobbies but again it was quiet. We did see a dog dyed pink, a few people reading through film scripts, a girl playing a single note on a saxophone and some people fighting with sticks.
We then got the metro to the government building with the free viewing platform just before the sun went down. Stayed here and watched the city light up. Then we went back towards our hotel for food and beers before hitting the sack. Another tiring day of sightseeing.
