It’s almost like we’re getting somewhere with the house renovations, the kitchen has been completely gutted, but it’s starting to come back together this week. The new doors and windows are in, the floor is ready to be tiled, complete with underfloor heating. The walls are being insulated and boarded, and we have a ceiling rather than dusty dirty old rafters.

We’ve ordered the kitchen, and I think we’ve just about decided which oven the Mother wants.

Team all of that with the near completion of the re-roof, and the scaffolding coming down tomorrow it will soon look and feel like we live in a house rather than a building site.

My end of the house is starting to get re-wired and plumbing for the heating and bathroom are almost ready. I have chosen my bathroom bits and bobs, like the shower tray, wall boards and the toilet/sink vanity unit.

I think we’re all shattered though, so the warmer weather and a break from the house will be nice. I have a holiday to look forward too, and I have friends and family visiting in April.

This year is flying by.
