It’s been busy in the house

We have been working hard in the house, and have had a lot of tradespeople in also working hard, the last three weeks have particularly hectic.

The roof is complete – it’s now fully felted, insulated and re-guttered. It looks lovely. The scaffolding came down, and the last few bits of finishing off are happening.

We have our new windows and doors for the kitchen, which now has a ceiling, a damp proof floor and walls. The new french doors at the back of the kitchen will open out to the back yard, which is a nice sun trap in the evening.

The underfloor heating will work soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ Probably just as it gets warm enough not to need heating.

Now the doors are in, the walls in the kitchen have been insulated and boarded. It’s being plastered today, and the kitchen units arrive next week. Hopefully the floor tiles will arrive as well, because they need to go down before we can fit the kitchen.

Also today we’re having three overly large and not very attractive trees removed, to make way for more trees and a large number of rose bushes.

It’s all happening.

Dad has been vacuuming under the floorboards – he’s found quite a lot of dead animals and pine needles.
